A former carnival worker has been convicted of sexually assaulting four people during the Montana State Fair in Great Falls, including a 13-year-old girl and an off-duty special victims unit detective. The Great Falls Tribune reports that 43-year-old Roberto Salaman-Garcia was sentenced Thursday to 17 years in prison on four counts of sexual assault. The detective testified that Salaman-Garcia groped her while tightening her seat belt on a ride in the summer of 2018. Three more people reported similar interactions while on the same ride.

According to the Great Falls Tribune, Salaman-Garcia must complete sex offender treatment while in prison in order to be eligible for parole. Judge John Kutzman stated to the Great Falls Tribune that after serving out his sentence at the Montana State Prison, Salaman-Garcia will be deported to Mexico.
