I am a big fan of easy recipes and especially easy desserts. Rice Krispie treats are one of my favorites. There aren’t too many desserts that are as easy to make or taste quite as good. So, when I found this recipe that takes Rice Krispie treats and kicks them up a notch, I just had to try them. They did not disappoint. The added chocolate and white chocolate only seem to enhance the goodness of these classic treats.

Double Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats

1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

1/4 peanut butter

3 cups Rice Krispies

1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Pour the white chocolate chips in a bowl and melt them in the microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Keep heating the chips for 30 seconds at a time until they are completely melted. Mix the peanut butter in with the melted white chocolate and then stir in the Rice Krispies. Let the mix cool for 15 minutes and then stir in the marshmallow and chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into a sparsely greased 9x9 inch pan and lightly press down on the top, but be sure not to press too hard or it will make the bars hard.
