According to the Dead Hipster press release:

Beginning Thursday August 4, Dead Hipster Dance Party will permanently move to Sean Kelly’s.  After 175 Thursdays spanning nearly 4 years of calling the Badlander home, we here at Dead Hipster HQ have collectively decided that, yes, it is very much true what they say; change is good.

Much of what has made Dead Hipster the most dependably fun and consistently well-attended weekly event in Missoula, dance related or otherwise, will not change.  The unique elements like the bargain basement priced drinks and vodka poured from the stage, the weekly photographs which serve as many a Facebook profile picture, the impossibly diverse, way-too-loud dance music and, you know, the vibe, will very much stay the same.  As long as the three of us are involved, Dead Hipster will remain a good time for everyone and anyone to come dance and let loose.

We’ve fielded the question of “why would you mess with a good thing?” a number of times, the whole “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” thing, but in the end, sometimes things need to be messed with.  The decision to move was prompted in large part because we wanted to make a change happen, rather than simply hope that change would come to us.
