While the recent Friday Night Lights snapshot garnered much attention when we proclaimed it to be the Best Photo of Missoula(..ever), we ask, could this video hold the same title, only in it's own category? Hard to say right now but from the looks of the previews, this not only is a strong contender for best video but it also proves that local artists are seriously hard at work in their attempts to capture the beauty of this great town.

Admit it, this town looks great (well, ok, some parts of town are better than others, admittedly) and when a videographer applies his or her own unique twist to a presentation of Missoula it's sometimes reassures us that this city is just jaw-droppingly beautiful.

According to the DVD description-

"City in Shadows is a short animated movie starring Missoula, Montana as itself--in silhouette form. I made this short as a guest of the Missoula Art Museum, whose administrators let me move into an alcove for two months last spring with my plug-ugly homemade animation stand and my ol' Super 8 movie camera to cut Missoula piece by piece out of black paper and vellum, and animate those pieces in on public view. Once the animation was finished, I invited some friends down to the museum on my last night there to play pedal steel, piano, banjo, birdcalls and musical saw on the eerie, airy and enchanting soundtrack--a city symphony like no other!"

The six minute video can ship right to your door on disc and is available for order by credit card, or even Pay Pal. Hard to say if it will ship in time for Christmas, but either way it sure would be nice to have playing at your New Years Party or to entice any out of towners to come visit or live here alongside the best community in Montana.

Do these previews draw you to believe that this film might possibly be the best video of Missoula...ever? If not, recommend other videos for us all to see and share!
