Convict Escapes in Missoula

UPDATE: James Thomas Black Eagle was apprehended by Missoula Police around 4:20 on the evening of December 4.

Late Monday night, convicted thief James Thomas Black Eagle failed to return to the Missoula Pre-release center.

"Black Eagle failed to return from a Narcotics Anonymous meeting that he was attending." says Director of Security Craig Daymude. "He's a 24 year old Native American male 6' 1" and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie, blue jeans, black tennis shoes, a white baseball cap and a blue and gray back pack."

Black Eagle has a scar on his forehead and a tattoo on his right forearm that reads "Assinaboine." He was convicted of Felony theft in Dawson and Valley Counties.

Because of the disappearance, a warrant for felony escape has been issued for James Black Eagle's arrest. Anyone with any information is urged to contact local law enforcement.
