Coach Bobby Hauck Sends Griz Care Package to Trooper Wade Palmer

It was great news from a Salt Lake City hospital this week when we learned Trooper Wade Palmer was communicating with hand signals and facial expressions.

Palmer was critically injured when he was shot in the neck, face and head during a shooting spree on the night of March 14 and morning of March 15.

Trooper Palmer's interaction with another trooper this week has lead to Griz coach Bobby Hauck dropping a care package in the mail.

The story has another trooper asking Trooper Palmer if he would like to have some Montana State Bobcat gear sent for him to wear instead of the hospital clothes.  Palmer gave a thumbs down and his facial expression was less than pleased.  Then, when he was asked if he wanted some Griz gear, Palmer replied with a thumbs up and a smile.

Attorney General Tim Fox heard that story and placed a phone call to coach Hauck.

Coach got on it and quickly put a Griz care package in the mail for Trooper Palmer.

That's a great story!

We're pulling for Trooper Wade Palmer as he battles his injures and faces the long road to recovery.  He has physical therapy every day and doctors plan to remove the wiring and screws from his jaw surgery this week.
