We're still working on getting things back to the way they were before the pandemic. Of course, some things will forever be altered because of COVID.....but at least we can have free samples at Costco again. That in itself is enough for me to look around and say, "yep, we're getting there!"

I do have to give credit to those that have manned the free sample booths at Costco for the past year. They've remained dedicated to the craft and I can appreciate that. They haven't been allowed to actually give out any samples but they've stood their post and done so with a smile on their face.....and gloves on their hands. Ha! That struck me as funny for some reason. I even jokingly asked one sample-giver-outer why they had to wear gloves if they're not even really giving out samples. I guess it's like sports when you dress in uniform even when you're injured and not playing - you have to look the part.

Costco recently announced that they're going to start offering up free food samples in about 170 of their stores this week. There will be some changes - food prepared behind plexiglass, smaller batches, and samples given to one customer at a time instead of being a free-for-all.

A couple other retailers announced some changes of their own.

Target has reopened their fitting rooms - and a KPAX article notes Target's continued focus on keeping them clean by saying they'll "continue to frequently disinfect and clean our stores throughout the day, as we have throughout the pandemic, and have team members dedicated to high-touch areas like fitting rooms."

Walmart has announced that they'll be expanding their hours beginning June 5. See exact details HERE.
