Cases Involving Violence Dominated Missoula Crime This Week

The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged nine new criminal complaints this week. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst says five of those cases involved some form of violence and four of those five involved family violence.

“One case we filed was a violation of an order of protection and another was two counts of a violation of an order of protection,” Pabst said. “We charged another one that involved an assault with a weapon, two counts criminal endangerment, two counts partner assault, and stalking. In that incident, the defendant was allegedly ramming an ex partner’s car while they were driving on the interstate.”

There was one case that involved two counts of criminal endangerment, assault with a weapon, criminal mischief, burglary, and DUI.

“This defendant also allegedly rammed into the victim’s car and tried to run her off the road,” Pabst said. “They ended up at the victim’s family’s home in Lolo. The victim homeowner was able to finally subdue the defendant and he was arrested.”

According to Pabst, they charged one felony DUI and two separate drug cases.

“In one, there were two counts of possession of methamphetamine,” Pabst said. “One involved drugs in the car and the other involved drugs in the apartment. There was another drug case we charged. In that case, the defendant was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. The defendant was allegedly unconscious in the driver’s seat of a running car.”

Pabst says they were reviewing two additional cases Friday morning. One was a drug case and the other was a felony DUI.
