All Lolo National Forest Campgrounds Will Close This Weekend
After the governor issued a stay-at-home order for the state of Montana yesterday, a lot more businesses and organizations around town have started to prepare to close for a while. Lolo National Forest is one of them - they're closing down all of their campgrounds, rental cabins, and lookouts until at least April 30th, just over a month.
The shutdown begins on Saturday, March 28th - though it should be noted that trails, recreation areas, lake access sites and a few other places will still remain open. They just won't have anybody working there, all toilets will be closed, and garbage disposal at several locations is being discontinued.
Going outside and exploring nature during the outbreak is fine - and for a lot of people, it's necessary to not go completely crazy when otherwise stuck in the house - but it's important to remember to practice social distancing. Keep six feet away from others at all times if you're heading out there, and hopefully we'll be able to get back to normal a lot faster.
