We've talked a lot in recent weeks and months about how Montana has become a hotbed of activity when it comes to out-of-state film productions - just in the last few weeks, a new production studio opened up in Missoula and the state government offered grants to several productions to ensure they film right here in Montana.

So it should come as no surprise that a new movie called Supercell will be filming in Billings for the month of May. The movie stars Alec Baldwin and is about a young storm chaser looking to follow in his father's footsteps. Is this some kind of surprise stealth sequel to Twister? Probably not, but it's not too late to change the script! This movie will probably be a little more authentic than Twister, though, since it's written and directed by James Winterstern, a former storm chaser himself.

The production is currently on the lookout for extras, too - especially for the dates between May 6th and May 20th. To be involved with that, you can email supercellextras@gmail.com and send them your relevant info.

It's pretty exciting to see major productions coming into Montana more and more, and if anybody meets Alec Baldwin while he's here, any chance you can get him to recite his monologue from Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, replace Ethan Hunt's name with mine, and have him record it as a voicemail for me? That's be great.

Think we'll be seeing some more film and television productions making their way into Montana this summer?
