The surge continues for television and movies being filmed around Montana. Yellowstone has been the talk of the town for the last year - and even last week they were posting on Facebook about looking for extras for some scenes that are filming this month. We've had stories recently about Alec Baldwin spending some time in Billings as he worked on a new movie, and a Robert Duvall movie filming in the state. We've even had a new production studio recently open in Missoula - and it looks pretty cool!

News this week is that another project will be filming in and around Missoula. Author L.J. Martin lives in Clinton, MT - so it's fitting that filming will be happening locally as he'll direct the film Eye For Eye that's based on his novel of the same title.

The film takes place in 1879 and Martin describes the premise in a Montana Right Now article"There is a sheriff who owns a little ranch next to the town and the cattle king wants his ranch, sends some guys to scare him off and it gets a little carried away, so he hangs up his badge and take the law into his own hands." A lot of the filming will actually take place at Martin's Rock Creek ranch.

Keep your eyes open around Missoula over the next few weeks and you might catch a peek at a couple Hollywood names that are starring in the new film. John Savage and Blanca Blanco arrived in Missoula yesterday as they get set to start filming. Savage has been in over 300 film and television projects, making his major screen debut in The Deer Hunter. Other projects he's appeared in include The Godfather III, Do The Right Thing, Message In A Bottle, and more. Blanco has acting and modeling credits to her name - and has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and more.

Everybody loves a good revenge story - and it's pretty cool that it has a local connection. While we wait for the movie, if you want to check out L.J. Martin's "Eye For Eye," you can purchase the book from Amazon.
