Like most 2020 events, Missoula's 4th annual Indigenous Film Festival will be downscaled to avoid public gathering. However, you can still watch two incredible films inspired by Indigenous resilience for just $10 this weekend, get tickets here. After you finalize payment, they will send a confirmation email to you. At 12 noon on the date of your chosen film, they will email you a link to screen the film, then you'll have 12 hours to watch it.

Inspired by a true story, Angelique’s Isle is a harrowing tale of perseverance and survival that unfolds during the great copper rush of 1845, when newlyweds Angelique, a young Ojibway woman, and Charlie, her voyageur husband, are left stranded throughout a brutal winter.

The other film is Blood Quantum. The term “blood quantum” refers to a colonial blood measurement system that is used to determine an individual’s Indigenous status, and is criticized as a tool of control and erasure of Indigenous peoples. This fiction film grimly depicts an apocalyptic scenario where people flock to an immune reservation to avoid a zombie apocalypse.

You can see trailers for both movies below. If you can't find time to watch the films but want to support next year's festival and sustaining the fest as a local, community driven event, you can buy a Film Fest t-shirt here. And it's a damn good lookin' shirt, if I do say so myself! The IFF is organized and presented by All Nations Health Center and The Roxy.
