This past weekend was fantastic, it was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend in Western Montana. When I left work on Friday I actually got to run home and get in a short nap before meeting up with friends to kick off the weekend. When I got home and the sun was shining I decided to take my short nap outside. The sun felt wonderful as I shut my eyes but over the past few days I have realized how many mosquito bites I got during that nap.

I didn't realize with all of the high water levels we are dealing with in Western Montana it is much more common to see an increase in Mosquito population. I jumped online and found wisebread.com had 4 cheap and easy homemade mosquito repellents that I though were amazing as we start summertime here in Montana.

  1. Garlic Mosquito Repellent - minced garlic, mineral oil, and lemon juice.
  2. Lemon Eucalyptus Mosquito Repellent - lemon eucalyptus oil and sunflower oil or witch hazel.
  3. Lavender Mosquito Repellent - fresh lavender
  4. Vanilla Mosquito Repellent - vanilla extract

None of these repellents should cost you more than $12-15 at any store you might visit and is well worth the money instead of scratching your bug bites all day.
