"One Night...One Nation...Under the Lights." That's the theme Griz fans are chanting as The University of Montana Grizzlies play under the new lights in Washington-Grizzly Stadium for the first time this Saturday. The 2012 Spring Football scrimmage is set for Saturday, April 14, and kicks off at 6:00 p.m.

Of course, Grizzly football wouldn't be complete without a tailgate party! The tailgate will be hosted by the Grizzly Scholarship Association (GSA) and will have something for everyone in the family. Activities include a GSA Tailgate with food and drinks; a variety of games for children (shooting hoops, football toss and other games); Monte will be there; the UM Cheer and Dance squads will be doing face painting and tattoos; live music; and after the scrimmage the kids will be able to play on the Washington-Grizzly Stadium playing surface. The tailgate kicks off at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person and available at the GSA Office, Elbow Room, JCCS, MSO Hub, Paradise Falls, Press Box, Red's Bar, Silver Slipper, Southgate Mall, Stockman's Bar & Worden's Market.

Speaking of football, every game begins with a coin toss, but did you know that you can improve your odds of winning a coin toss if you toss the coin yourself? The bright minds at the University of British Columbia found most people flip coins the same way every time. So if you know which side of the coin is face-up at the start of a flip, you’ll have a 68% chance of guessing which side will be face-up when it lands, but everyone else will only have a 50/50 chance of guessing. Hey, it's not a HUGE difference in odds, but every little bit helps, right?
