Zumbathon: This Saturday at Curves Missoula [EVENT]

What do an 80 year old great grandma, a 65 year old grandma, a 40 something mom, and a 20 year old student have in common? They all love
to shake their booties while raising funds for Relay for Life.

Missoula, MT – April 19, 2012

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, and contagious steps to form a “fitness-party” that is downright addictive. It’s one of the fastest and most fun exercise programs in the country. And it appeals to all ages, shapes, and sizes.

You can burn up to 500 calories in a class and learn Latin dance in a fun, party atmosphere. You don’t need any special equipment, just comfortable shoes, such as a lightweight cross training shoe with good support.

On Saturday, April 28th from 2:00 until 5:00, Curves of Missoula is hosting a Zumbathon® to raise funds for Missoula’s Relay for Life with 100% of the proceeds going to the Curves Relay for Life Team donations.

The event will be held at 1204 West Kent Avenue in Tremper’s Shopping Center from 2:00 until 5:00pm. The suggested donation is $5 cash at the door. There will be several Zumba® instructors from Curves leading the fun with fast paced routines.

To add a personal element to the Zumbathon®, Curves owners, Linda and Megan Baumann, would like to send a personal invite to cancer survivors and encourage them to bring in their photos which will be put on the wall of the fitness club to inspire the participants.
Participants can dance to the Zumba® routines at their own pace, take breaks whenever they want and enjoy fun activities during the event like chair massage, tarot readings, health screens, a photo booth and more. Tickets for activities can be purchased for $1 each. Luminarias will be sold to remember survivors and loved ones at the Relay for Life event in June.

The event is open to the public. A membership special will be available for non-members to try Curves for 30 days for a $30 donation to the Relay for Life. No long term commitment is required.
