It seems like history is made every year at the Winter X Games, and this year that statement is definitely true. The awesomeness took place over the weekend with the biggest events wrapping up Sunday night. History was made in the Snowboard SuperPipe, as Shaun White did something that had never been done before. Nursing an injured ankle, and already having the gold medal secured for this event, Shaun had the best run in SuperPipe history, receiving a perfect 100 from the judges. The gold medal is Shaun’s fifth-straight in this event.

Those that watched over the weekend know that this followed the other epic moment of this year’s Winter X Games – Heath Frisby’s frontflip on a 450 pound snowmobile.

While these were two of the most phenomenal performances of the weekend, other big winners were American Nate Holland in the Men’s Snowboarder X event, 18 year old Canadian Mark McMorris in Snowboard Big Air, American Jamie Anderson in Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle and Canadian Samson Danniels in the Mono Skier X. Moments like these make the X Games special, and progression drives these athletes to do the impossible.
