The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Watch for Missoula and the Bitterroot, starting Friday night, November 15, and continuing through Sunday, November 17.

Forecaster Dave Noble said the moist weather system will bring heavy snow to the mountains around Missoula.

"The very moist flow with bring some heavy snow to the mountains on the border between Montana and Idaho," Noble said. "We're going to see some hazardous travel potentially through Lookout Pass and Lolo Pass. In terms of total snowfall, we could be seeing anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of snowfall this weekend."

Noble provided a game-day forecast for those headed to Washington Grizzly Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

"Around game-time, temperatures will be in the upper 30's," Noble said. "There could be a flurry or maybe a light snow shower, and light southwest winds from five to 10 miles per hour."

The weather will moderate with temperatures getting back up into the 40's by the middle of next week.
