CNBC reports that America's largest mattress retailer, Mattress Firm, is filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. The company has over 3500 locations all across the country, and it looks like as a result of the bankruptcy, they will be closing roughly 700 of those stores. 200 of them will be within the next few days.

The bankruptcy is a result of the rise in online mattress retailers like Casper and Leesa. Mattress Firm has a few locations across Montana, including one right here in Missoula. Will our store be affected?

Well, this might be good news. According to the report, the company is closing stores in locations where they have too many stores that are too close to each other. As far as I can tell, the Mattress Firm on Reserve Street in Missoula is the only location in town, so it's possible it may be safe.

Of course, we won't know for sure until official word comes down from the company. Have you ever shopped at the local Mattress Firm?
