Ladies, this is for you. Don't be the latest victim of the date rape drug.

Today the Whitefish Police Department is cautioning Whitefish Bar goers to protect themselves.

“There have been unsubstantiated instances where people, both men and women, feel they may have been drugged. However, there have been no solid leads provided to law enforcement to substantiate the claims.” –Whitefish Police Department Press Release

OK ladies… If you get that ‘off’ feeling… you know…your common sense telling you something is wrong…or that guy is ‘creepy weird’, find your friends and stick together. I like to think of it as the buddy system…even if you’re just going to the bathroom. Here are a few tips for staying safe:

-Pay Attention

-Protect yourself and your friends

-Don’t leave your drink

-If a random offers to buy you a drink, go with them and watch it come straight from the bartender

-Don’t drink from pitchers that haven’t come straight from the bartender

-If your drink tastes funny, pour it out and get a new one. (WomensHealth.Gov says sometimes the date rape drug GHB tastes salty)

It only takes a second for you to turn around in your seat to say hi to a friend, your glass or beer on the bar and boom… you’ve been roofied.

Police say time is of the essence.  If you or someone you are with thinks they've been drugged get to the emergency room and call police ASAP! Police say the drugs can leave your body quickly, so the sooner you can get to the hospital and have your blood tested the better! Police need your help to catch the creep/s that might be doing this… So if you think your drink was spiked, save the drink, that way police can test it for drugs.
Be careful ladies! Have fun, but be aware of what’s going on around you. You don’t want to become the next statistic!
