Whitefish, Montana has made many significant improvements over the past few years, enough to earn its place in the Top 25 Ski Resorts in the World.

When I lived in Kalispell back in 2005, there were rumblings that investors were hoping to make Whitefish the "Disneyland of Ski Resorts." I brushed off the idea, thinking "I'll believe it when I see it" considering that most people are all talk most of the time. Flash forward to 2013 and I can see that my reservations didn't seem to stop the money from pouring into the small community.

The town, once known for it's thriving timber development has become even more of a ski-lovers destination over the years, enough to make it the 6th best Ski Resort in the World according to Snow Addiction.

Here's a rundown of the 10 best:

1. Wanaka, New Zealand
2. Girdwood, Alaska
3. Fernie, British Columbia, Canada
4. Chamonix, France
5. Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy
6. Whitefish, Montana, Unites States
7. Crested Butte, Colorado
8. Niseko, Japan
9. Kitzbühel, Austria
10. Bend, Oregon
