Is anyone else confused by the weather lately? I’m not sure what is going on with Mother Nature. It seems as though she may be going through menopause. Lately she has had hot flashes followed by crying spells.

This makes it very difficult to plan for a nice warm camping trip. Chances are you could spend the entire trip in your tent just trying to stay warm and dry. This is not my idea of fun.

I long for consistent warm weather. Not hot, but warm. Weather so nice that you could plan a three week camping trip and never have to worry about a torrential downpour, only mosquitoes.

There is one really good thing about Mother Nature’s indecisiveness - I don’t have to lug a hose around to water my gardens. Thanks to her on-again-off-again weather patterns, my gardens get a couple days of sunshine followed by a couple days of rain. This makes for fast growing fruits and veggies.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before our rain disappears for a month or two. I should appreciate it while it lasts. Soon enough the unending heat and smoky air will take over. The smoke gets so thick that we won’t even be able to see the beautiful mountains that surround us.

For now, I will put up with Mother Nature’s mood swings and enjoy our beautiful rocky mountains.
