As the guys of the Jersey Shore cast would say: Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is officially getting wifed up.

On Thursday's (June 21) episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the infamously single Sorrentino finally set into motion a plan to propose to his longtime, on-again/off-again girlfriend Lauren Pesce. With the help of his housemates, the group's home was transformed, complete with its own red carpet, flowers, candles, twinkly lights, heart-shaped balloons and even a DJ booth.

Finally, when Pesce arrived, Sorrentino began.

“You’re my best friend, my college sweetheart, my better half,” Sorrentino said as he got down on one knee. “You make me a better person. Please make me the happiest man on earth. Will you please marry me?”

Pesce of course said yes, which sent Mike into emotional hysterics.

“The odds were against me, people bet against me. But against all odds, she’s been there through the ups and downs, the good times and the bad,” Mike said through tears. “I’ve been wanting to get to this day for so long and right now, I’m feeling like all these bad times I’ve been through, it’s all worth it for this moment right here.”

“Lauren is the light at the end of my tunnel,” he said. “Lauren is my everything, Lauren is my best friend, she is my soulmate, she is my better half. And knowing that I found that, I’m willing to face anything in life..I’ve been wanting to get to this day for so long, and right now, I’m feeling like all these bad times that I’ve been through, it’s all worth it for this moment right here.”

In real time, this all actually went down in April, after which Sorrentino posted an image that read "GYM TAN WE'RE ENGAGED."

Now, Sorrentino faces up to five years in jail after pleading guilty to tax evasion in a New Jersey federal court in January.
