One thing is for sure about Wapikiya Records, Missoula truly supports it's homegrown hip-hop label. When their crew and it's fans heard that their leading artist Koshir was in the running for "Finest Musician" our website was swamped with new visitors who's mission was to ensure that this Missoula artist stays on top in this category.

Say what you will about Koshir. Yes, he's brash. Yes, he's offensive (it seems like every time he posts a Facebook comment he loses at least one "friend" because of what he says). Yes, his music is what would probably ground most teenagers if their parents found his CD in their kids stereo. But not unlike Lady Gaga, he is not afraid to express himself with the way he dresses or spits and it seems like his record label is not attempting to mold him into something he does not want to be. All of this combined could possibly be the reason why he is leading the pack by a wide margin in our Zootown's Finest survey.

"He is different, to say the least." Roger Harmon, CEO of Wapikiya Records laughs. "His unique style is what attracted us to him in the first place and we knew he needed help in polishing the sound of his album, so signing him to our label was simply a no-brainer." Roger also feels that the timing of Zootown's Finest was perfect for Koshir because our survey came out at around the time that most of Missoula had had a chance to hear his new album which was just recently released.

Zootown's Finest is only into it's second week so it's still too early to tell who could walk away the winner. Country singer Shane Clouse and the band Party Trained follow behind Koshir but hopefully with a little help from their fans they could give the rapper a run for his money. But don't let this heated competition keep you from submitting your nominations! This town is full of fantastic talent, they just need to be put in the running with the help from your feedback. Get started today with Zootown's Finest and let your voice (and favorite music) be heard.
