Valentine’s Day is the one day a year set aside to let that special someone in your life know just how much you care for them. What better way is there to let your honey know you love them then with food? Living with five males has made me realize just how true it is that the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

Nothing says, “I love you sweetheart,” like sweets, especially homemade ones. If you’re looking for something special to make for your Valentine this year, look no further. This recipe is an easy way you show how much you care this Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day Red Velvet Cookies

1 box red velvet cake mix

2 tablespoons flour

2 eggs

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup powdered sugar

Heart shaped cookie cutter

Toss the red velvet cake mix, flour, eggs, coconut oil and vanilla into a mixing bowl and beat until well combined. Pour the powdered sugar onto a plate.

Scoop one tablespoonful of dough out and roll into a ball. Roll the ball into the powdered sugar and then place it on a cookie sheet. Repeat until all the dough is used up.

Bake the dough at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool for a couple minutes and then use the heart shaped cookie cutter to cut the cookies into hearts. Feed them to your Valentine.
