The planetarium at the University of Montana had a successful summer season of shows and the Physics Department is continuing the public offerings into the fall. The presentations move from the afternoons to the evenings on seven upcoming Fridays in the Payne Family Native American Center Star Gazing Room on the UM Oval in Missoula. Mike Reiser of the Department of Physics and Astronomy reported the start times will be at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with a cost of $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Only 28 seats are available, so the shows often sell out early. They will be September 14 and 28, October 12, November 2, 16 and 30 and December 14.

Reiser said the shows will tour the current night skies of Western Montana, with highlights of constellations and planets. Then, each night will feature a different topic from that evening's presenter. If you plan to attend, get a ticket at the physics website, then arrive 10 minutes early to check in. The door will be locked after the show begins. The planetarium is in the basement of the Native American Center.
