Trial Date Set for Woman Accused of Murdering Husband in Glacier National Park

A trial date of December 9 has been set for Jordan Linn Graham who has pled not guilty to charges of murder and presenting a false statement to authorities. The new date is earlier than many had expected.

The trial date was set during a pre-trial hearing today, October 15 at U.S. District Court in Missoula by judge Jeremiah Lynch.

Graham has been awaiting the trial while under house arrest in Kalispell. Prosecutors say Graham pushed her newlywed husband Cody Johnson off a cliff in Glacier National Park on July 7, 2013.

The official criminal complaint submitted by FBI agent Steven Liss claims that Graham has already confessed not only to lying, but to having "pushed Johnson with both hands in the back" while standing atop a cliff on Glacier's Loop Trail. The official complaint also highlights that the push was "due to her anger."

The December trial date is two months earlier than the February date expected from a set of preliminary discussions released earlier this week. Those discussions also reveal that the prosecution plans to call "up to 60 witnesses at trial over a two week period."
