We’d be lying if we said we never wished we could look like our Queen B Britney Spears, at least back in the day when she as rocking some serious abs. But a young transgender woman has actually taken her dream of looking like Spears and turned it into reality.

Ohio native Kara Hays, a transexual who was born (anatomically-speaking) male and used to go by the name of Kody, has spent over $70,000 on surgeries when she underwent procedures back in 2002 to resemble Spears. The surgeries included a 14-hour gender realignment surgery and breast implant. A large chunk of that money includes the numerous dye jobs to get Spears’ blond locks, and even the red ‘do in ‘Toxic.’ Hays stated that she, too, had a mental breakdown the same time Brit Brit did and shaved off her extensions.

“When you feel like you’re a girl living in a boy’s body and you try to change you want that validation that you look like a girl. I viewed her as a very strong woman, everybody wanted to date her,” Kara told the DailyMail. “I focused on Britney and Christina Aguilera for my inspiration: they were the stars that were around when I was younger, they are who you looked up to. Nowadays people have Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.”

Now that her looks is pretty much complete, her transformation into the pop star “has finally brought her happiness following years of anguish. “The paparazzi even began mistaking Hays for Spears, and that, she says, was “incredibly validating.”
