Toys For Tots 2016

For many, the holiday season is a very fun and special time of the year. Personally I love shopping for beautiful gifts for loved ones and sometimes even myself.

But for some people, this isn't the case. Right here in Missoula, there are hard working parents who work night and day just to put food on the table. Which means around the holidays there isn't much money to spend on fun gifts for their kids. This is so hard for the parents who want to give their children everything, but simply can't.

That's where Toys For Tots comes in:

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

 

Growing up my mom would let me pick out the toy we would donate to Toys For Tots. It taught me the importance of giving back to those less fortunate than myself and it was a much needed reality check for a privileged child growing up in Orange County. That lesson has stayed with me my entire life!
