PopCrush is rounding up the Top 40 Pop Songs for June 2012 to let you in on what’s going to be sizzling up the charts this first month of summer. After sorting through tons of hot pop and crossover tracks, we’ve come up with the list of Top 40 Pop Songs for June 2012 based on radio airplay, the most-searched songs on PopCrush, and the overall reception from listeners.

Neither Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen nor Nicki Minaj are topping our Top 40 Pop Songs list for June 2012, but they all have a strong presence this month. Perry comes in twice on the list with her brand-new single ‘Wide Awake’ and her girl power anthem ‘Part of Me.’ The same goes for Minaj, who cracked the Top 5 with her bubbly, beachy dance song ‘Starships’ and makes another appearance with her Chris Brown-featured single ‘Right by My Side.’ Meanwhile, Jepsen is sitting pretty at No. 2 with ‘Call Me Maybe,’ proving that even new artists can make waves among heavy-hitting pop divas.

Speaking of newcomers, U.K. recording artist Olly Murs is breaking through on the Top 40 with ‘Heart Skips a Beat,’ as is the newest ‘American Idol‘ champ Phillip Phillips with his original song ‘Home.’ And while Gotye and fun. might’ve been unknown names to most pop listeners a few months back, you can’t escape their hits ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ and ‘We Are Young’ (respectively) as of late.

Some other names coming in on the Top 40 Pop Songs for June 2012? Kelly Clarkson and Usher come in twice, as does Rihanna (once for a feature, once for ‘Where Have You Been’) and boy bands One Direction and the Wanted. Check out the rest of the songs on our Top 40 Pop Songs for June 2012 to find out what other infectious beats are taking over.
