If you are reading this stop! Just kidding. Keep reading this, but then turn your computer off right after you’re done. Why, you ask? Well, because it’s Unplug and Play Week in the beautiful city of Missoula.

  • Hike to the M. Not only do you get a work out, but you get a beautiful view too.

  • Take the kids for a pony ride at the carousel. Adults are allowed on the ponies too. You don’t have to just watch.

  • Plant a garden. Spring is here and if you want some delicious fruits and veggies this summer, now is the time to plant. Plus it’s always fun getting your hands dirty.

  • Put your boots on and jump in a mud puddle or two. Nothing will make you feel more like a kid than acting like one. Have a contest to see who can make the biggest splash. I bet you’ll win.

  • Go fly a kite. Literally. I haven’t done this in a long time, but with the wind we’ve been experiencing lately, it would be a blast to try it.

  • Have a dance contest. Okay, this one might be cheating, because it involves music which is usually played through an electronic device, but I think it’s a good kind of cheating. This is really fun and usually ends up in everyone rolling on the floor laughing at each other’s moves.

  • Go out to dinner as a family. Nothing will try your patience or test your kids’ manners like a dinner out with the kids!

  • Dust off those old board games and play. My kids love Yahtzee, Life and Scrabble, but play whatever you have. It’s amazing the interaction and fun you’ll have by talking to each other instead of watching other people talk on TV.
