The Day I Met Sir Mix-A-Lot

I thought today was going to be like any other Thursday...Go to school until 2:00, head to work at 2:30, come home at 7:00, and drown in homework until 2-for-1's started at the IHo. Little did I know, my day was about to change.

My boss and I were sitting in her office, talking about the Macklemore concert, and other work-like stuff that is unworthy of typing. Before we knew it, the hottest rap icon to ever sing about big butts walks down the hallway.

I don't know about you, but I had never even seen what Sir Mix-A-Lot actually looked like before. To be honest, I just knew his voice from "Baby Got Back." It's been a day and I still can't come to terms that I got to meet Mix in person. Not only can he throw a couple lines around about red beans and rice, but believe it or not, Sir Mix-A-Lot is HILARIOUS!

After talking a bit about his show at the Top Hat, a new record he's releasing, and flirting here and there with the female KPAX reporter, he got down to business on the airwaves with Aaron Traylor and ZooFM. He was a great sport and played along with everything Aaron wanted him to do in the studio.

A lot of times, I think celebrities get a bad wrap. Sir Mix-A-Lot proved me wrong 100 times over. Not only was he funny, but he was humble, and loved doing what he does.

It's not everyday that you get to say you met a rap legend. I know I already have"Baby Got Back." memorized, but meeting the man behind the lyrics was truly amazing.

So, let's put all the rumors to rest. Sir Mix-A-Lot really does like big butts, and he cannot lie.
