16-year-old Maverick Couch not only has a cool name, he's won my vote for Progressive Teen of the Year! Couch has a t-shirt that says "Jesus Is Not a Homophobe" and he wore it to school a few times last year. This is, until school officials told him to turn the shirt inside out or he'd be suspended. Mav didn't think that was cool and neither did his mom, so she called a lawyer. In the end, the school district was forced to pay $20,000 and let Mav wear his sweet shirt at school! Way to go!
