Throughout the night, 2012 Teen Choice Awards hosts Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale (that dude that plays Artie on ‘Glee‘) teased the audience, mentioning that viewers were asked to submit videos of them singing along to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s hit song ‘Call Me Maybe.’
Justin Bieber performed a medley of ‘Boyfriend’ and ‘As Long as You Love Me’ in a futuristic space suit-inspired outfit at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards tonight (July 22), which was also his girlfriend Selena Gomez‘s birthday! We were expecting him to throw a bday shout out to his lady love from the stage, but alas, we (and she) didn’t get it. Ah, that’s okay, though, since Sel, who turned 20, gets alone time with him, which is probably better than any public declaration.
Flo Rida was blinged out to the nth degree when he took the stage at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards tonight (July 22.) While he wore a sleeveless denim vest, it was both his mic and the mic stand that were encrusted with blinding jewels and his name. It was like brass knuckles on steroids. Flo most certainly goes big, with his mics and his hooks! It certainly made a statement. But the bedazzled equipment took a backseat once the camera noticed Taylor Swift rocking the heck out in the crowd. She’s definitely a Flo fan and he even serenaded her.
It’s no doubt that No Doubt (we crack ourselves up far too often) are legends in their own right. Since hitting it big in 1995 with the mainstream success of one of our favorite albums of all time, ‘Tragic Kingdom,’ the band safely secured their place in the ska punk/pop rock hall of fame.
The 2012 Teen Choice Awards brought out a pretty fashionable bunch. Hostess with the mostess Demi Lovato rocked a futuristic, super long blonde ponytail — gone are her blue and green (once pink) tips! It was a huge night for Lovato, as she wasn’t just co-hosting with ‘Glee‘ star Kevin McHale, she was also up for a few awards of her own. You go, Demz!
They might not be as prestigious as the Grammys or the Oscars, but the Teen Choice Awards are a lot more fun — and they’ve just announced their nominees for this year’s ceremony.
Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift lead the pack, with five and six nominations, respectively. Other stars boasting multiple nods — drawn across the pop culture spectrum, including movies, music, television, fashion, and sports — are Justin Bieber, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Eminem.
