Valentine’s Day is the one day a year set aside to let that special someone in your life know just how much you care for them. What better way is there to let your honey know you love them then with food? Living with five males has made me realize just how true it is that the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

I’m not a big football fan. However, if I’m going to force myself to watch one football game a year, it’s going to be the Super Bowl. There are only two good things about the Super Bowl: Food and Commercials. If it wasn’t for those two things my life would be blissfully free of football.

If there is one thing my house full of little carnivores love, it’s pig. They love everything from ham shanks and bacon to ribs and sausage. No matter what cut of pig we seem to have, or how it is seasoned, the boys in my house love it. My husband absolutely loves sugar cookies, however I don’t have the same feeling toward them as he does. (It’s safe to say that I could leave them if given the choice). But, because my husband loves them, I do end up making them quite often.

My oldest brother has become famous the past few Christmases for making almond roca. It was something that my mother always used to make when we were kids, but hadn’t made in a long time and my brother resurrected it. Along with bringing back the almond roca, my brother has become famous for making holiday mulled red wine.

My mom makes the pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving. However, the last two years that she’s been in charge of making the pies, she has forgotten to add the sugar to them. Have you ever tried a pumpkin pie that didn’t have sugar in it? You need to eat it with a whole lot of whipped cream.
