On Monday, KGVO News received a press release from Michael Burks, former owner of the Missoula Maulers Junior Hockey team in response to fundraising efforts undertaken by the Glacier Ice Rink.

Michael Burks says he is 'heartbroken' over the way the Missoula Maulers ended their relationship with the Glacier Ice Rink this week, but that he wanted to tell the story of what really happened in his own words.

The Easter Bunny almost hopped on by the University of Montana this year, but thanks to local business owner Michael Burks, western Montana children will once again have the chance to scoop up thousands of colorful eggs and candy during the annual Easter Eggstravagaza on Saturday, April 4, on UM’s Oval.

Over the weekend our hometown Missoula Maulers had a huge weekend playoff series against the Southern Oregon Spartans. It was intense as soon as the puck dropped on Friday's best of three series game.

What a fun weekend it's going to be in Western Montana! At Dahlberg Arena and the Adams Center we have both Men and Women's Big Sky Basketball Tournaments going on. The St. Patrick's Day parade is happening downtown Missoula. And you can't forget about our hometown Missoula Maulers dropping the puck for some playoff hockey at the Glacier Ice Rink...

The Missoula Maulers tied for 4th place out of the top 12 teams in the country, but did not get the 1 wildcard available due to goal differential. Friday night, the Mauler were shell shocked by the Rochester Ice Hawks 7-1, but then rebounded on Saturday to defeat the New Jersey Rockets 5-4 in overtime and then finish strong on Sunday with a 3-1 over the Southern Oregon Spartans...

Friday, the Missoula Maulers dedicated their game against the Gillette Wild to the family of 11 year old Dominick Sharp. Sharp's life was cut tragically short in a house fire earlier this month and the family lost everything. To help the Sharp family, the team played Chuck-a-Buck instead of the usual Chuck-a-Puck during second intermission and asked fans to throw cash on the ice...

The Missoula Maulers will be dedicating this Friday night to the family of 11 year old Dominick Sharp, whose life was cut tragically short in a house fire earlier this month.

With a little over 2 minutes left in regulation, the Maulers were down 4-2 against the Gillette Wild and the fans were heading to the nearest exits… then it happened.. Missoula’s Corey Schafer scored at the 17:45 mark in the third period and then with only 17 seconds left in the game, Jimmy Morris tied the match up at 4′s to put into overtime...

For the first time in franchise history, the Missoula Maulers find themselves in first place in the AWHL standings at the mid season Christmas break. The Maulers went on the road this weekend and beat the Billings Bulls 5-4 in thrilling double overtime fashion Friday, then defeated the Gillette Wild 5-0 Saturday night and completed the 3 game sweep with a 7-2 victory Sunday afternoon. The Missoula Maulers are coming off a weekend sweep of the Icedogs and Americans. Friday night at the Glacier Ice Rink, the Maulers defeated Bozeman 7-2 and then went to Great Falls and lit the lamp 8 times while allowing just 1 goal. The game vs Great Falls included a goalie fight and line brawl to add to the excitement.

This is what is all about!  Revenge!!!!  Just kidding Maulers fans...  Well.. sort of...   The Helena Bighorns are coming to Missoula this Friday night and your Maulers are licking their chops for sweet revenge over the double overtime shoot out loss the Bighorns gave them to start the season.  This Friday night, the puck drops for the last time in November and won't happen again for 2 weeks
