It's almost time for UM students to load up on gear for the fall semester. Here's what you'll need besides pens and notebooks.

The Missoula Police Department says a man who claimed to be beaten outside a Missoula bar because he was gay never happened. 22 year-old Joseph Bakken has now been charged with making a false report, and has pleaded guilty in Missoula municipal court. A report from the city police department is attached.
