Missoula has lost 14 of the last 15 years when it comes to beating the Gallatin County Food Bank in the annual Can the Cats competition. Will we beat the Cats this year?

The Montana Food Bank Network’s Hungry in Montana 2014 report was released this week, highlighting the experiences of food pantry clients across the state.

Four facts about local hunger: 1.  More of our neighbors are living in food insecurity this year than last.  During 2012, Missoula Food Bank has provided 9% more services than in 2011. 2.  One in three people in our community who struggle with hunger are kids.  Last year, Missoula Food Bank provided more than 21,000 services to area children.

This week, the employees of Energy Partners Propane voted unanimously to donate all their Christmas bonuses to the Montana Food Bank Network.
