2 weeks ago Now that practically anyone can DJ on just their Mac with a home trial version of mixing software it seems that there has been a major paradigm shift in the way people perceive DJ’s.
A couple interesting things I noticed while observing the Missoula nightlife scene recently:
April 3, 2013 Yesterday, I reported on a story about some crazy Florida radio DJs who were suspended after an April Fool's joke went horribly wrong. Radio disc jockeys are America's true attention-getters. Yet, sometimes their wacky stunts will get them fired. But if they can pull it off, the risk may be worth the ratings.
That got me to thinking...."Geez, I've made some seriously dumb mistakes in my radio career, too!" I mean DUMB. DUMB! Some by complete accident. Some totally intentional. Let's share just a few...

October 18, 2011 As a musician, DJ, or MC our goal is to create a good vibe wherever we perform, and of course build a loyal following. But what is one surefire way to kill the vibe? By killing our followers.
Read that last sentence again, we are literally setting the stage for the possibility of someone in our audience dying whenever we set foot on stage.
Pardon me if I seem a bit dramatic, but frankly I've grown weary of losing my audience to fatal accidents or emergency room visits. These scenarios happen far too often in my line of work, and no, it's not our music that is hurting them..
