As of late Friday afternoon, over 25,000 tickets to the Paul McCartney Concert had been sold.

Adams Center Executive Director Brad Murphy said at 3:30 p.m. that only a few tickets remained in the P1 section, the most expensive seats in the stadium.

"It's been a really great day," Murphy said. "We had hardly no issues at all with ticket sales. They went rapidly as soon as the doors opened at 10 a.m. The best part was that everyone who walked up to a ticket outlet and stood in line this morning got tickets to see Paul McCartney."

Murphy said the concert happens to fall on a Tuesday, so he encourages people to make a day of the event.

"There won't be any tailgating or RV's allowed, but there be special events going on in the campus area all day long," Murphy said. "The gates will open at 6 p.m. and there'll be lots of music before Sir Paul and his band take the stage at 8 p.m. You can expect anywhere from two and-a-half to three hours of music, including songs from the Beatles, Paul McCartney and Wings and other music from throughout his great career."

Murphy said there will be lots to eat and drink for sale before and during the concert.

"We'll be serving beer and wine, along with a full range of concession items with all kinds of menu items available," he said. "We are only allowing people to bring in clear plastic Naljean-type water bottles, no bags, coolers or backpacks. And, parking will be just like the football games. We'll have shuttles running downtown and to the mall, so that people won't have to fight for a parking space. Because we're serving alcohol, we encourage people to use a designated driver, as well."

Murphy said there is no law in Montana against ticket-scalping, so there may be people outside the stadium trying to make money selling tickets.

"Montana doesn't have an anti-scalping law, so there's really nothing we can do about that," Murphy said. "We discourage that, of course, we don't like to see that happening, but legally, we can't stop it."

Now, all Missoula can look forward to a warm August evening under the lights at Washington Grizzly Stadium, and to be serenaded by royalty, Sir Paul McCartney.
