Register your band before Feb. 25 for Sean Kelly’s Top of the Mic Trilogy and you could win $1,000, studio time and be included in a compilation album. Here are the details from the press release they sent out:

Sean Kelly’s and Entertainment Management at The University of Montana

(UMEM) are excited to announce The Top of the Mic Trilogy, a

seven-week open mic competition for Missoula’s most talented

musicians. This student-produced series will provide local musicians

with the chance to be judged by both crowd vote and guest judges

Thursdays and Saturdays at Sean Kelly’s. The first place winner will

go home with $1000, second place wins $300, third place winner takes

home $200. Winners will also headline the Montana Musicians and

Artists Coalition’s (MMAC) weekly Musician Showcase, be featured on

their website and have the opportunity for high quality video and

audio recording at the Showcase. The first place winner will be

featured on MMAC’s Sampler CD Volume 2.

The last day for sign up is Feb. 25, with notice of acceptance

by Feb. 28. If all performance spots are not filled by the

Feb. 25, registration will remain open.

All musicians must be ready to play a 20-minute set by Mar. 1.

The winners of The Top of the Mic Trilogy will be the featured

performers at the Cinco de Mayo concert, May 5, hosted by Sean

Kelly’s and UMEM.

This string of concerts will kick-off the 10th anniversary of UMEM’s

Annual Spring Thaw series. There are many other exciting events. Check
