Peak Missoula Triathalon 2012- Saturday, May 19th [EVENT]
To benefit Fit to Fight, Missoula’s very own nonprofit empowering cancer survivors getting back into an exercise routine, it’s the PEAK Missoula Triathlon ~ Saturday, May 19th
The PEAK Missoula Triathlon is a race for all levels. Beginners will appreciate the shorter swim of 500 yards, larger swim lanes and fewer participants in each lane. The bike course of 12.4 miles is an out and back on Blue Mountain Road. The run is 3.1 miles throughout nearby neighborhoods along rolling hills.
A pre-race meeting will be Friday, May 18th at 6 PM at the PEAK Health and Wellness Center. Race course details and any race day questions will be addressed at that time. Child care will be available at the Peak’s “Jungle” from 7:30 AM – 3 PM for $5.00 per hour. Heat start times are based on the race clock. Athletes are allowed to rack their bike an hour before their start time – no earlier. Please pick up belongings from transition area soon after you finish. All participants must be “body marked” on one arm and one leg prior to race start. Be ready to enter the pool 5-10 minutes before your heat time. Be sure to check in with the swim volunteer at your lane. Locker rooms are available for changing. All roads are open to traffic. Be very cautious for cars and other hazards.
The top three male and female finishers as well as the top all-male, all-female and co-ed teams receive awards. Age group winners also receive awards. (Top three overall winners will not be included in the age group.) If an athlete is not present to receive their award, it can be picked up at the PEAK Health and Wellness Center by Wednesday, May 23rd. Awards will not be mailed.
We need volunteers to make this event a success. Volunteers get a free t shirt and a chance to cheer on participants. Donate 3-4 hours of your day. The race is 7:30AM – 3:30PM. Volunteers are needed indoors and outdoors, standing and seated. To volunteer, call the Peak Health and Wellness Center at 406-251-3344 or email email@example.com.
