The Roaring Lion fire camp at Hamilton High School received some of the top Montana officials Wednesday, August 3.

In the morning, U.S. Senator Jon Tester and Montana Governor Steve Bullock sat in on the morning shift briefing and listened to the coordination instructions for the several different teams working on the fire lines. Afterwards, they met with team leaders to ask ways they could help the firefighting efforts.

In the afternoon, at the night shift briefing, U.S. Senator Steve Daines, along with a group of Ravalli County Commissioners and state Legislators, joined the night shift briefing, which was held on the lawn of the high school, outside the gym.

Tester, Bullock and Daines were unanimous in praising the efforts that had already been made fighting the 7,000-acre Roaring Lion forest fire, south of Hamilton.

Monday, U.S. Congressman Ryan Zinke also visited Hamilton, showing support for the fire fighters.
