The ninth annual Beer and Wine Festival is coming up this Friday and Jared Amus with the Grizzly Scholarship Association at the University of Montana said this year is one you can’t miss.

"Friday night is the social event of the year: the ninth annual Montana Beer and Wine Festival sponsored by Summit Beverage," Amus said. It's a fundraiser for the Grizzly Scholarship Association which is our primary source of raising scholarship funds for student athletes. The main focus of our mission is to get funds for the actual student athletic scholarship to fund their education."

Amus said UM is home to over 300 student athletes that are in NCAA sanctioned sports.

"It's basically a sampling of 30 plus vendors of beer and wine from around the state of Montana as well as in the region," Amus said. "We also have about a dozen food purveyors, local restaurants and caterers that will be giving samples away, some of which will be paired with wine and beer. We usually see 500 to 600 people here each year. It's just a great event for a great cause."

Amus said tickets are available at the door as well as online. You can also find them around Missoula at Orange Street Food Farm, Pattee Creek Market, or at the Adams Center for $50 apiece.
