Nicole’s Pick Of The Week – Britt Nicole

I’ve decided to share my obsession with you each week by playing my Pick of the Week every single day on 107.5 ZooFM in the 3pm and 6pm hours.

There are always those songs that we listen to once and something immediately clicks. I don't know who originally said this, but one of my favorite quotes is, "Some days I need the music and some days I need the lyrics." So with that said, I think I first fell in love with Britt Nicole's song Fallin In Love because of its fun and upbeat pop sound and then when I took the time to actually listen to the lyrics I was a goner.

Britt, also known as Brittany Nicole Waddell, is a North Carolina girl who started off her music career singing mainly Christian pop songs before moving into a more modern form of pop music. Her debut single was tilted Gold, which she released in 2012 and she is currently signed to my buddies over there at Capitol Records.

Some things that I like about Britt Nicole's 'sound,' is that it's clean, fun and relatable. In the music industry nowadays, everything is trying too hard to be sexy and a lot of the times it comes off as raunchy. Whereas Britt Nicole is real and gets the same points across without having to be too graphic. And when was the last time we thought about the feeling of actually falling in love? That butterflies in your stomach, pulse quickening, week knees feeling that we've all hopefully felt at some point in our lives... I'm smiling just thinking about it!

So do yourself a favor and re-listen to her song, this time paying attention to what she's saying. You won't be disappointed! Fallin In Love is catchy and upbeat and the perfect song to bump in your car with the windows down and the sun shining. You better believe it's gonna be on my summer playlist!
