I’ve decided to share my obsession with you each week by playing my Pick of the Week every single day on 107.5 ZooFM in the 3pm and 6pm hours.

This week I chose three very promising brothers who go by AJR in the music world. Hailing from New York, this pop-rock trio is starting to make some pretty big waves in the industry, starting with their hit single Weak.

"One of the cool things about this song is that listeners are hearing their own weaknesses in the lyrics, so in the video, we used this mysterious light to represent a vice," AJR told Paper. "This light would be so blinding and enticing, that it would force Jack toward it. Jack would have no control over his will, until he gets to the light, and pays the price."

Like most of the new music I come across, I stumbled upon AJR on a random Spotify playlist a couple of weeks ago. Like their interview with Paper suggests, they dropped a music video for Weak just yesterday. Obviously I was attracted to song prior to the video dropping because I connected instantly with the lyrics. But the music video adds a lot to the song and I think new listeners and fans will show up in a big way and support the overall message!

It's really exciting for me to see artists on the cusp of making it big in the music industry. Sometimes it just takes one song, and I think Weak definitely puts AJR on the map. Like many things, we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out...
