Missoula’s First Cidery Opening in 2017
What is a cidery? A cidery is like a brewery but produces hard apple cider. They have become quite popular around the northwest and California and Missoula's first one will open in January.
Local business partners Matt LaRubbio, Michael Billingsley and Jon Clarenbach will launch Western Cider at 501 North California street in January. The cidery will feature alcohol infused craft ciders made with apples grown specifically for the business at Michael Billingsley's orchard north of Stevensville.
Western Cider will offer indoor and outdoor seating facing the river and unlike breweries, the cidery will be considered a winery, so they will not have to adhere to the 48 ounce limit or 8 p.m. closing time rules. Which also means they will be able to offer food and food truck service.
Keep up with the progress of this awesome new Missoula business on the Western Cider Facebook page.
