Update 12/11: The county attorney's office declined to file charges against the accused.

An argument over an ex-wife ended with a woman facing two felony charges after police responded to a residence just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, December 5.

"Police officers responded to the report of a disturbance in the 2900 block of Eaton Street," Welsh said. "The first officer on scene made contact with an adult female who reported that she had been in a disturbance with her ex-boyfriend. Other officers arrived and made contact with the male inside the residence who displayed a small laceration on one hand."

It appears the laceration was caused by a knife that was picked up during the argument by the accused.

"According to the victim: at one point, at the same point that the wound to the victim's hand occurred, he had described a situation where the female had one hand grabbing his throat across the front, reducing his ability to breathe properly and the other hand was holding the knife that he was trying to defend himself against," Welsh said. "It appears given the statements from both and the nature of the wound that it was a defensive wound."

The accused is facing two felony charges, one for Strangulation and another for Assault with a Weapon. She is also facing a misdemeanor Partner or Family Member Assault Charge, according to the jail, this is her first PFMA.
