Two men say they were attacked late last Saturday night outside of a downtown Missoula bar on Ryman Street. According to Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, the attackers reportedly used homophobic slurs before punches were thrown.

"The victims related that as they were walking down the street, these two males passed them and as they did so, they made offensive comments," Welsh said. "As the victims turned around, one of them was punched in the face. He then ran into the bar to look for help and when he came back the other victim was being assaulted by the same two suspects."

Welsh says the two victims suffered minor injuries, and that police are searching for suspects with the following description:

"Suspect #1 is described as a white adult male, in his 40's, approximately 6'1 - 6'2, and he was said to be of slim build, bald/balding with a long-hanging chin beard. His chin was said to be pierced with a 'spike' stud, and he was wearing a Fox brand black and white baseball cap.

"Suspect #2 is described as a white adult male in his mid-30's, 5'6 - 5'8, stocky build with light facial hair. He was described as having dirty blond hair and was wearing a gray baseball cap."

Details about the slur used during the assault have not been released because police are using that information in their investigation. Right now, police are looking for eyewitnesses or video camera footage that might help to identify the suspects.
