A Missoula man, Daniel Roy Eagle, appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Wednesday, charged with raping a then 15 year-old girl in May.

According to court documents, Eagle, 22, initially met the victim at the Missoula Skate park, where he told her that he had a terminal illness, and was "living on borrowed time." The victim, identified only as Jane Doe, invited Eagle to a barbecue at her mother's home, where the alleged rape took place.

The victim's mother later confronted Eagle about the alleged rape, and said that Eagle apologized and that she would never hear from him again.

Court documents indicate that he had made up the medical condition so that the 15 year-old girl would feel sorry for him.

Deputy County Attorney Andrew Paul asked Substitute Justice of the Peace Marie Andersen for $200,000 bail, and Andersen agreed. Eagle was remanded to the Missoula County Jail.
