We Missoulians all love this beautiful city we feel lucky enough to call home. We know we are unique and we are proud of it. From being one of the top five greenest places to live, to being just a few short miles away from four ski resorts, to being known as a city for inspiring entrepreneurs, Missoula has it.

What if Missoula had the chance to have one more thing to make it unique? Missoula has the chance to host the Social Media Tourism Symposium or SoMeT. Hosting this symposium would not only let us show others how great Missoula is, but would also help boost the local economy. The previous year’s symposium brought 232 people from all over the world and these people shared their impressions of that city via social media, which led to 10.7 million views of their experience. (In the business of social media, impressions is a term for the number of people who view something online.)

The best part is that Missoula has a pretty good chance of winning. Our fair city is running against 12 other cities, like Eugene, Oregon, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Tampa, Florida just to name a few. This might be some stiff competition, but I think we can beat them. Want to know how?

It’s simple. All you have to do is vote, but you have to do it soon and fast. The window to vote for Missoula is small. Voting is only open from 10 a.m., March 13 until 10 a.m., March 15. All you have to do is go to www.facebook.com/SoMeTourism?sk=app_303561899745219&app_data=from-3355zy and vote for Missoula.

Let everyone see why we love Missoula so much - get out there and vote!
